Projects Synaesthetic Surveillance
A sound installation in UTD ATEC. Video from an inconspicuous wireless camera was turned into sound using Pure Data and played elsewhere in the building, and visitors were encouraged to try to find the camera.

How it worked: The wireless camera signal was displayed on a monitor being watched by my MacBook’s iSight camera (since I couldn’t figure out how to connect the camera directly), and a Pure Data patch isolated changes in the video (so more activity in front of the wireless camera produced more noise), and processed various visual parameters into oscillator inputs.
